At the beginning of the month, we began collecting and organising the necessary materials and parts. For some of the more complicated parts, it was necessary to have them professionally fabricated and welded. This was done for the supporting legs of the crutch since they needed to be strong and fabricated with high precision. So, an assembly drawing for fabrication was made and sent to the EMS. This drawing is shown the figure below.

For materials, the Aluminium was sourced mostly from the EMS. One part that could not be found there was purchased from Mr. Metal in Etobicoke. The BOM for the metal parts is shown below. For 3D printed parts, these were ordered from Watimake. Finally, fasteners were ordered from both EMS and Spaenaur since some of the screws were very small and not commonly found. Ultimately, we were unable to source 1/8'’ aluminium dowel easily, so it was determined that it would be much more time efficient to replace all of the dowels with 1/8'’ bolts instead. A trip to Lowes was made to purchase brackets and epoxy to use for later.
